If you knew you had 24 hours to live, what would you do? Would you handle situations the same way you handled them yesterday? Think about it… Imagine if the Lord said, “ ______, I’m calling you home in 24 hours.” What would you do?
Would you humble yourself before the Lord? Would you forgive that grudge against that person(s) you’ve been carrying all these days, months, or years? Would you stress over bills not paid? Would you listen attentively for God’s voice in case He had something more to say?
I know I would humble myself and forgive whoever. I would not even be thinking about any bill I had, and I would be listening for God’s voice for any directions or commands He may have for me. I would follow Him, not ask Him to follow me. He would have my full attention!
If I would give God my full attention in such a circumstance, why would not do it now? If there is something that you stress about now and you wouldn’t stress you out in a “24 hour to live situation” why are you stressing now?
My message, if it matters on your death bed, it matters now. Live your life like it’s your last 24. If you have that mindset, you will find it easier to forgive easier to love that difficult one easier to rejoice and give thanks in all circumstances. Be genuinely grateful for another day.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. You don’t know when your end is. None of us do. If you’re reading this, God is Good and has given you yet another 24 to get it together. He has given us new mercy. Be grateful for the kindness take advantage of the mercy and put the Lord first in your life. Build your relationship. Talk to Him. He can help you with that hard thing if you surrender it to Him. Praise Him for His mercy and grace! Let’s prepare to live again!
All you have is now, this very moment. The past is gone, and the future you don’t know. If you haven’t already, give your life to Christ. Accept Him as your personal Savior. If you know Christ already, get to know Him even better. You’ll be happy you did!
Keep Believing Keep Trusting Live
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food,
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
